New Items Coming for the Holidays

We're actually starting to put together our holiday 2011 mailer, and have begun working on some new items to include. These decorative perfume bottles will be added to our holiday gift guide this Christmas. If you would like to check them out before the holidays, stop by the gallery, as we have some nice samples hot out of the kiln (kinda warm, actually).

New Friday Night Tile Workshops begin in September!

We're beginning our Fall Fridays Tile Workshops in September plus two more in October. These will be small, two hour classes that will allow anyone to have fun while exploring their creative side. We'll walk you through every step using different carving and texturing techniques using stamps and molds and at the end of class you'll have created a unique tile that will be ready to pick up in about two weeks. We'll even have it glazed for you!

It's simple to register. Just choose a Friday; September 23, 30, October 14. Classes are 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Cost is $45 per person (16yrs and older).Payment due at time of registration. Sorry no refunds. Register early as space is limited. Light refreshments. Register by phone at 330-253-3808

Summers in Full Swing with the August 6th Artwalk!

Stroll the sidewalks of downtown Akron and visit the many shops, galleries and restaurants during the August Artwalk. It's easy to get around... just hop on the Art Trolley and visit all the locations. Walking maps available at any location or visit the website. Enjoy Akron's hidden treasures! We'll be open early at noon and the Artwalk hours are from 5-10pm.

Get Ready for the Grandaddy of all Art Fairs

The Ann Arbor Art Fairs are upon us. Every year this massive and at times overwhelming art experience takes over the city of Ann Arbor and the lives of hundreds of artists. The South University Art Fair is where our booth is located and is one of the more pleasant areas in all of Ann Arbor during the fair. We are located near Tappan and South University not far from the diag.  Stop by and visit us between July 20th and 23rd. We'll be there, holding down the canopy from 9am to 9pm.

2011 Boston Mills Artfest

Ready to enjoy two great weekends of art and entertainment? The 2011 Boston Mills Artfest is right around the corner and we are celebrating 40 years of Art!

Held over two weekends at the end of June and beginning of July, the Boston Mills Artfest is a celebration of fine arts, fine crafts, and the creative minds behind them. 160 artists are invited to each show and the grounds at Boston Mills are turned into an outdoor gallery of sorts, with food and entertainment to add to the enjoyment. Regular show dates are listed to the right.

Just in time for serving up summer delights!

 

We've designed some new, smaller bowls that would be great for your summer entertaining, serving up anything from ice cream to dips or salsa. Bowls are available in four color patterns similar to our other work, only simplified. The inside has a rich, gloss black glaze while the outside is decorated with our primary color patterns of either red, purple/green, butterscotch or lime green. They're available at our gallery.

Dates set for the Fall Friday Tile Making Classes

 

Bring a spouse, friend or partner and join us for our new tile making workshop. It will be a fun evening as you design your own decorative tile. We supply the materials while you supply the creativity. Choose one the dates - Sept. 23, 30, Oct 14, 21, 28. Start your weekend off right!

New Table Designs

We've taken a classic design and added a contemporary look. Done in extruded Satin Aluminum instead of wood,  these tables are then enhanced with a custom tile design. Tube size is 2" square by whatever height and length you wish. We can make any size - cocktail table (20" x 20" x 15"), dining room/kitchen table, or credenza/hall table (shown above 60" x 15" x 30"). Stop by the gallery to see our many new items for your home or office. We have new lighting designs plus custom designed wall pieces.

This Years Mother's Day Special

Every year we try to offer a new and special item for the occasion of Mother's Day. This year we've selected a truly unique gift - our Ikebana bowl. Ikebana, or Japanese flower arranging, uplifts both the spirit and the environment and what would be a better gift after such a long winter season. Celebrate spring by displaying just a few cut flowers in this beautiful bowl throughout the year. We're offering our Ikebana bowls in two of our signature color patterns - Fiesta (red) and Bordeaux (neutral). Each bowl includes a heavy-duty brass pin frog that allows you to secure and arrange your cut flowers in a simple but beautiful arrangement. Your Ikebana bowl will already have an arrangement of fresh flowers that we'll provide. All you need to do is order by April 29th to ensure you'll have yours by Mother's Day. Pick up at our gallery either Friday, May 6th or Saturday, May 7th.

Galleries, shops and studios in the Northside Artwalk feature glass, ceramic, quilts, clothing

The monthly Akron Artwalk in the Northside Arts District takes on a new intensity on December 4th as galleries, shops and studios put their best feet forward for the holiday shopping crowd. Our annual holiday open opens begins at 10am and continues through Artwalk until 10pm. The Akron Glassworks will be giving glassblowing demonstrations, too. Shop to the accompaniment of the Street Beat Drummers and take advantage of the free parking at Northside (by Luigi's) and in the Market/High Street Deck for those visiting the spaces at Summit Artspace Studios and the galleries and shops in the Historic District. Holiday Open House plus Artwalk this Saturday in Akron's Northside District

From 10am until 10pm our doors will be open for your holiday shopping. Beginning at 10am and continuing until 5pm we'll host our annual holiday open house. The holiday festivities continue with the Akron Artwalk from 5-10pm. Stop by for some holiday cheer and light refreshments. Also featured during this months artwalk at 43 Furnace Street, on the 4th floor is the vintage jewelry of Kathleen Lucas-Walls plus special guest artist Annette Boncek who creates some of the most fabulous fabric sculptures you'll ever see. Don't miss this holiday tradition plus you'll be sure to find those creative gifts for everyone this year. Consider buying locally...it matters to all of us.
