We were able to catch an inspiring and finely crafted exhibit Friday evening at the Cleveland Institute of Art. The exhibit showcases the work of 17 Swedish women who design furniture, textiles and other functional and decorative objects. It's an inspiring show that really exemplifies Swedish design as it relates to form and function and just as important raises the profile of women in design. It truly is a beautiful show with wonderful objects.Details on the exhibit.

Our first "batch" of ornaments (below) is being unloaded from the kiln at this very moment. Although some of the new designs won't be ready for tonight's Artwalk, we do have several designs to choose from. Collections of ornaments add charm, personality, and sparkle to your home. Our larger table ornament (above) can be displayed on a mantle or dining table nestled in some garland accented with twinkle lights. Our smaller ornaments look great as gift toppers on those wrapped presents you'll be giving this season or you could even use them on your dinner table at each place setting as gifts for you guests. No matter how you use them, our special heirloom ornaments will become part of your family's holiday tradition for generations to come.

It's looking like Santa's workshop in the studio and the "elves" are working hard. Every year we try to come up with a new design for our Christmas ornaments and every year it amazes me the time it takes to develop a new design. Once all the preliminary drawing and creative ideas are worked through we must then work out how to re-create the design on the ornament. Sometimes it's this technical aspect that creates the biggest challenge. Because of the process we've developed, each ornament is fired four times! That's an amazing amount of time for such a small piece but we think it's worth it since the results are truly unique. This batch of Christmas ornaments will be finished and out of the kiln on Saturday just in time for Artwalk.Stop by and see these special heirloom ornaments. They're sure to become a part of your family's holiday tradition for generations to come.

Establishing a collaborative line of pieces has been the result of determining that people enjoy using and viewing artwork on a daily basis. "We enjoy the daily overlapping of our personal and professional lives and we believe it enhances our individual creativity." Collaboration is an enriching process for theses two artists, and by challenging each other, a balance is achieved, and the contribution of each person's particular skills has here resulted in a product that surpasses what each could achieve alone.
